Film Production Companies

 

We decided to use these film production companies as they fund non mainstream and low budget films. This seemed to fit out film opening best as its not like a massive hollywood action or family film but a drama. 

Filming Report #1

On Friday 23rd of Novemeber we started filming shots for the middle of our opening, the introduction of the house. We shot using a Canon Eos 550d, and we didnt use a tripod as we wanted shakey focusing shots, to show the instability in the characters' lives. We filmed the setting and props so close ups of bottles, empty milk cartons, windows and a main prop a pot that says "Wish Friends" this is metaphorical for Alisha's loneliness. We also plan to film this friday and the 8th of December.

Animatic

This is the animatic of our stroy board, we have added music and no sounds affects. We have also added production company logos.

 

1. This is an idea for a type of coat Alisha could wear, it is big and fluffy to keep her warm in the "December Days". It also is plain so you would believe it would be wearable to go with school unifrom // 2. These are the type of headphones you'd see Alisha constantly, as the opening shots show her listening to music, they are plain and forgetable and nothing too expensive. //  3. This is the make up we would put her in, quite dark to represent her emotional/family state. We would also have her wear nail polish as there is a shot we need of her biting her chipped fingernails, showing she's not extremely fussed about her appearance. // 4. Lastly Alisha's main costume would be school uniform as she is a student, this makes her life seem more realistic and normal.

Billy and I

 Together Billy and I will be working on our film opening. We have already come up with the treatment together, and are working on ideas for the sequence.

We have also marked up a mind map on what jobs we will be doing during production of our work. Below is a mind map showing these jobs. The jobs I plan to do are in pink, the jobs Billy will be doing are blue.
This mind map is not finished,as we each plan to do much more (for example I am in charge of costume)

For the music in our film opening, we plan to use cover artists who are unsigned to use as possible background music or opening themes. Below are some artists I have found to possibly use.

 

 

I am working in a group with Billy Turner. We are working on a film opening about a young girl, who has a dull and miserable childhood. She has no friends at school and is sometimes bullied, her home life also isnt secure. However she soon finds a friend in a boy from the local area. Set in a mucky urban area, the story shows the two of them become friends and the girls life become better and better.

We plan to use our friends/siblings for help as characters in this and we plan to use their actual names for characters. The main character being called Alisha and her friend Sam.

The place we intend to set the opening is Ponders End as it is quite an industrial/urban area. I will post photos of possible locations in a different post.

Inspiration for our film openings comes from Fish Tank, Adulthood/Kidulthood, Submarine and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. All of which show teenage lives, in a abstract perspective. Fish Tank would be most similar to our opening as it is set in similar settings and has a similar tone to what we are hoping for.
