Evaluation Question 5: How did you attract/address you audience?

The audience for mine and Billy's product would be more of a niche audience, as we hope to appeal to a young teenage/adult audience. As our film is more low budget and dramatic, it would only be shown in more lesser known cinemas. We hope to appeal to boys and girls, however with a female lead, girls may relate to it more.
We attracted our audience through interesting use of mise en scene, location and sound. For example, there are many hidden clues in our mise en scene to our plotline.
Such as in this print screen, you can see a pot entitled "wish friends" suggesting Alisha's struggle for friendship. We used this to target a particular teenage audience, as we felt they would relate. Also we used a blue tone in our cinematography, that can be found in films such as "This Is England".
The costume we chose was something fashionable teenage girls would wear, and boys could see as something attractive however not altogether mainstream, more on the alterative dress sense.  Similar fashion sense is the coat worn by Jordana in "Submarine".
In our sound we tried to attract music fans, particularly those of an indie or folk style. We used an unsigned singer songwriter's live original song in our opening. Lastly we used location to appeal to our audience, by using a street/urban area. We know that teenagers often live in or near these areas and can relate to a story in this area.
